Vampire Survivors: How to Unlock All Stages in A Garlic Paradise (Adventure)
Garlic Paradise is one of the stories or adventures that you can play in Vampire Survivor's Adventure Mode. Since it is a separate mode, it will have its own set of stages that you need to unlock progressively. In this article, we will quickly discuss how to unlock all stages in Garlic Paradise.
Vampire Survivors: A Garlic Paradise Stages
This adventure mode has six stages and to unlock the next one, you have to complete a progression challenge on the preceding stage as listed below:
Chapter 1: An Old Mad Forest
This is the starting stage and unlocked by default. Old Mad Forest is the first stage available in the adventure. You'll start off with the default character Poe Ratcho and just 5000 gold coins to purchase starting power-ups. Poe is slow and fragile and his garlic weapon's AoE can only hold off enemies for the first couple of minutes. Consider purchasing the following power-ups first before starting the stage.
- Defang (3% of enemies spawn unable to deal damage per rank, max 15%)
- Recovery (passive HP recovery)
- Might (increase attack)
As long as you survive for 10 minutes, you'll be able to complete this challenge and unlock the next stage even if you don't clear the stage shortly after.
Chapter 2: A Rough Awakening
To unlock: Survive 10 minutes in An Old Mad Forest (see above)A Rough Awakening is the second stage and can be unlocked by surviving 10 minutes in the Old Mad Forest (preceding) stage. This stage has a lot of unlockables so you should prioritize collecting them first. In this map, you'll find several characters and their respective weapons. The characters themselves act as merchants where you can permanently purchase new weapons. You can also pick up their respective base weapons right beside them to permanently unlock the characters in your roster (you still need to spend gold to purchase them before you can use them in combat).
It is possible to have more than six weapons in this stage, especially if you have collected new weapons when your character leveled up before picking up the character weapons.
Chapter 3: Risky Woods
To unlock: Survive 15 minutes in A Rough Awakening (see above)Risky Woods is a third stage in this adventure and can be unlocked by surviving 15 minutes in the Rough Awakening (2nd stage). When you open the map, the coffin will appear as a question mark further to the south, along with the Cursed Mask and Rosary markers.
The path winds left and right so from the starting point, follow the path on the lower left, then to the lower right in the following area and so on. Once you're near the coffin, several enemies will spawn. You can quickly get past them and pick up the rosary to instantly destroy them and open the coffin to unlock Dommario.
Chapter 4: Rotten Orchard
To unlock: Open the coffin in Risky Woods (see above)Rotten Orchard is the fourth stage in this adventure and can be unlocked by opening Dommario's coffin in Risky Woods. You're only fighting off in a closed-off area and this stage only has a 15 minute limit. From the starting point, there are also several weapons and passive items to the north. Pick up the 5 Clovers, 5 Laurels, 5 Spinach, and 5 Celestial Dusting. Focus on getting more weapons and upgrading them so that you'll have more firepower to take out a Jiva tree.
You need to defeat a Jiva tree to clear a progress challenge and unlock the next stage. A Jiva Tree will spawn shortly after starting the stage and more of them will appear throughout the run. It's hard to focus fire on a single tree since they all look the same and will teleport around the place as you move so try to max out your weapons as early as possible and try to deliberately target them, hoping that your damage output is enough to at least take one out before the run ends.
Chapter 5: Garlic Paradise
To unlock: Defeat a Jiva Tree in Rotten Orchard (see above)Garlic Paradise is the fifth stage on this adventure and can be unlocked by defeating a Jiva Tree in the previous stage. Please refer to the task above for more information.
This stage is also a closed-off with a 30 minute timer. On top of that, there are also several pummarolas and garlics located in the northern part of the stage though you can only collect a maximum number of them. However, this combination will also give you access to the Soul Eater, the evolved form of garlic so you'll have a great start. (Evolving the garlic also completes a progression challenge that unlocks the character Peppino) Simply collect more weapons and max them out and you'll be able to reach LV50 safely and comfortably.
Chapter 6: Retirement
To unlock: Reach LV50 in Garlic Paradise (see above)Retirement is the last stage of the game and can be unlocked by reaching LV50 in Garlic Paradise (stage 5). This stage doesn't have enemies that are actively hunting you down since it is entirely populated by various types of Molisani. These various plants just spawn in regular intervals and will still damage you if you touch them. However, they won't deal that much damage and they don't even release any projectile to be wary of. Simply move around and hack all the Molisani that appear in your screen to complete this task.
Reward for Clearing All Stages
Clearing all stages in A Garlic Paradise award you with 35000 gold that you can use in your base game. You'll also gain the ability to Ascend this adventure. For more information about what Ascending an adventure stage does, please check out our dedicated article for the topic.
