Tycoon Racers rewards and event explained
Currently playing on Monopoly Go is the first worldwide, open to everyone, new partners event, Tycoon Racers. But it is very different to the partner events we are used to. In this event which runs over multiple days you team up with three other players and compete against three other teams in order to try to get the most points and beat the other three teams to the top prize.
We explain everything we know so far about this event including the expected rewards and how to play this new event on Monopoly Go.
Tycoon Racers rewards
We are now two races into this event, and with final race currently active and completing at 4 PM ET on June 15th. In this final race, the medal rewards are doubled so do your best to grab more flags if you can.
Running at the same time as this final race is the tournament Downtime Derby where you can win up to 2,820 flags. You can also get more flags by landing on them on the board, by completing Quick Wins and via the eight hourly free shop gift.
It's all to play for, and here are the championship rewards that teams will get at the end of the third race, according to their overall position in the event.

As well as the rewards in the table above, there are lots more dice and stickers to be won for each race as you progress through lap milestones. You'll get a number of reward boxes and options on prizes that you can select from. In those boxes you may find purple sticker packs, flags to help your progress in this event, boost event timers or more free dice.
Lap rewards are given to the whole team once the team car has completed one lap, two laps, five laps and 10 laps, then on the completion of every 10 subsequent laps during the same race with the rewards getting progressively better. For the rewards you get to choose from a selection, including more flags.
At the end of each race medals are distributed each time according to the team's placement at the end of each race. The final race, double medals are given. The number of medals your team has at the end of the championship determines their rank in the final table and what reward the team will get.
In researching this article, I read through a ton of Reddit posts, and a lot of them highlighted the same thing, this event can be a dice killer, and with the possibility of no wild sticker, as it likely will only go to the first placed team at the end of the championship,it could leave a lot of players disappointed.
How to play Tycoon Racers
This event is split into four stages; team building, match making, race events, and championship. Lets take a look in more detail about each of these four event stages.
Team Building
Just like in previous partner events, you need to team up with a number of players, this time three other players in order to form a team. While you may think it is a great idea to align yourself with the best players in your friends list it may also be the case that the game matchmaking system considers net worth when pairing your team up against three other teams.
So looking for active and committed players is probably going to be more important than finding the biggest high rollers in your friends list.

Unlike other partner events, in Tycoon Racers you can leave your team during the team building phase and try to enter another one. If you don't have a team by the end of the team building phase then you'll be allocated to a team. Likewise, if you have open slots in your team a random player will be assigned to your team. Good luck with that 😃
To build your team you will have both suggested team ups and also you can search your friends list too. You'll also be able to see the time the player was last online which may give you an idea if they are still active in the game. Just like in previous partner events you can send requests to team up, and players can send requests to you too.
Team building is for the first 25 hours of the event.
How to join in a Team in Tycoon Racers
- Joining or building a team in Tycoon Racers is a lot different other partner events because if there is a player you want to team with but they already have one or two partners in their team, then you will be joining those players too. This is unlike other partner events when you could just select from individual players.
- You can still do this via the search for friends bar at the bottom of the build your teams page, just if they already have team mates, those team mates will becomes yours too!
- Like in other partner events you can send requests to individual players, but if they are already in a team, then that request goes to their whole team. Same if a friend sends you an invite, then you will not just be joining your friend but their whole team if they have one.
- You can see the status of any team requests as the whole current team is located within the same request block and you can choose to accept, deny, cancel etc... the whole team.
- If you make a mistake you can leave a team before the start of the first race, just tap the red exit icon in your avatar on the event page.
Collecting Flags
During the team building phase you may also notice that you can also collect flags. Flags are the event token that you need in order to score points in Tycoon Racers. You should see some on the game board during the event but there are other ways to get flags in the game.
- Tournaments
The milestones list for the tournaments that run after this event starts such as Grease and Glory and from 1 PM ET on June 13th, Pace Pushers. Grease and Glory returns again for one day on June 14th at 2 PM ET. The banner events, Fast and Luxurious and Highway to Fame do not have any flag rewards.
- Quick Wins
While Tycoon Racers is an active event you'll get flag rewards in Quick Wins. Complete the three daily quick wins to not only get flags but to get more steps closer to the final weekly prize. On the day of the start of Tycoon Racers, consider not completing your Quick Wins until Tycoon Racers has started in order to get flags in Quick Wins on the first day. If you complete Quick Wins on reset but before Tycoon Racers has started, then you won't get flag rewards.
- Shop Gift
As you probably know, there is a free gift every eight hours in the shop. When there is a special event running such as Tycoon Racers, you should find the relevant event token, in this case flags, as part of the those free rewards. If you don't know how to get them, then basically hit the three lines, tap on shop and swipe that top shop block over until you get to the last panel which shows the free shop gift or countdown timer to the next one.
- Lap completion milestones
When your team completes laps you'll eventually pass milestones, when you do, your whole team will get the milestone reward which may include more flags.
Race Stage
Now is the time to start your engines and start hitting that dice popper with the flags you've earned. Set the multiplier to a number you are comfortable with and slam that dice popper in order to get points in this event. Look out for the race timer countdown, this will tell you when the race ends.
As you play through the race you'll reach lap milestones which will give you some rewards to choose from and at the end of the race your team will get medals according to their final position.
In the final race of the event medal rewards for that race are doubled, so do save some flags for that important last race.
Soon after the next race will start, and it is the same process again.
After getting through the first race it seems that end of race sniping is going to be a thing, so pay attention to the end times for races and try to get organised as a team to make sure you are all on the same page when it comes to tactics.
The second race was more of the same for our team with there being a mad rush to secure first place. It's all to play for however in the third and final race because the medal rewards are doubled.

Lap Milestone Rewards
While I'm not sure if everyone gets the same reward offers on every milestone or not, here are the milestone reward offers I have been given in the first race so far.
Complete one lap to get to the first milestone, and choose either:

- 100 free dice rolls

- 80 flags
- cash
Complete two more laps to get to the next milestone, and choose either:

- Two star yellow sticker pack

Complete 10 more laps to get to the next milestone, and choose either:[/b]
- 15 minutes mega heist
- 160 flags
- 350 free dice rolls
Complete 10 more laps to get to the next milestone, and choose either:[/b]

Complete 10 more laps to get to the next milestone, and choose either:[/b]
- 500 dice
- 400 flags
- four star blue sticker pack
Complete 10 more laps to get to the next milestone, and choose either:[/b]

- 15 minute cash boost

Again, your rewards may be different to mine, but this should give you some kind of idea.
Championship Stage
The final rewards are now distributed to members of each team according to their team's final placement overall, which is determined by how many medals each team has won.
