Case 3 - Mine Accident Walkthrough Part 1

Welcome to our Mystery Detective Adventure walkthrough. This is another in the popular line of Mystery escape room and puzzle games from Five-BN.

This is Part 1 of our walkthrough for the third case in the game. Mine Accident is the case of the death of a miner in an apparent accident. But the mine manager is worried that is was not an accident.

Case 3 - Mine Accident Walkthrough Part 1

You travel to the mine in a small town to meet with the Manager.

Morphing Object: Box on the end of the crane above the building.

Tap to talk to the manager and you will enter her office.

New task - Explore the site of Henry's death

After the conversation you will obtain a Pass.

Then also tap on the paper on the desk to collect the Newspaper and on the desk under that collect the Clip.

Back out in the yard, view the red box on the wall by the office door.

Use the clip on this to pick the lock and open it. Collect a Hammer and a Detail with spoon.

Now view the mine shaft lift.

Use the pass on the lift panel and it will open, then enter to go down to the mine.

Talk to the miner and he will give you a Key for the boiler room.

Morphing object: Warning sign on the container behind the miner.

Back up to the surface and then view the large doors on the right of the main building.

Use the key to open them and enter the boiler room. You need to find the Jerry can.

First view the grate on the center of the floor to collect the red Valve wheel.

Then view the steam hammer on the left side, add the valve wheel to the pipe on the left and then collect the Shovel.

View the boiler on the back left. Collect the Bucket and the Rope.

Then use the shovel on the pile of coal to get the boiler fire going.

Next view a barrel of water on the right. Use the bucket here to collect Bucket with Water. Then also take a Token from the bottom of the barrel.

View the boiler again and add the bucket with water to the top to get the steam pressure up.

Now view the steam hammer again and tap the valve to lift the hammer, collect another Token.

View the large cabinet on the back right and add the 2 tokens to the front to open it.

Collect a Chisel and a Wrench.

View the wall on the wight between the 2 windows to see a hook stuck in the wall. Use the chisel on this to collect the Hook.

Finally view the grate in the floor again and use the wrench to open it.

Then place the rope and hook on the ground and tap to connect them.

You then use this to collect the Jerry can from the hole.

Back out in the yard view the pump on the right, collect the Hose from it.

Next tap on the door in the main building to the left of the boiler room. You will enter the workshop.

Collection Item: Hard hat below the workbench on the right.

Morphing Object: scrap item on the floor on the lower left.

View the workbench on the right, collect a Bulb from the top left.

Then use the hammer on the vice to loosen it and collect a Detail (1/3)

Now view the large green barrel at the back. Add the Jerry can and then open the top to the green barrel and add the hose to it.

Collect the Jerry Can again.

Go back down to the mine and now view the hand cart on the tracks on the right. Collect a Dirty Part from inside the hand cart.

Use the Hammer to knock a block away from the front wheel. Then open the fuel flap on the right and use the Jerry can to fill the tank.

Next open the flap on the left side to find a starter, tap this to get the hand cart working.

Collect a Detail with Fork from the ground by the rail.

Now tap the tunnel on the right to travel to the scene of the accident.

Collection Item: Anchor in the rocks on the right by the broken light.

Morphing Object: Chain hanging from the wooden beam on the left.

View the broken light that is on the right side and add the new bulb to it.

You can now see the accident scene. You need to get a fingerprint kit.

Back up to the surface and open the door to your carriage and enter it.

Collect the Tweezers and the Evidence envelope, then open the blue box to collect the Fingerprint Kit.

Next view the small hut on the left with large windows.

Add the detail with spoon and detail with fork to this to open the windows and look inside.

Collection Item: Anchor on the left.

Tap to look at the table inside. Collect the Detail (2/3).

Then view the box for a puzzle

Food Box Puzzle

• There are 10 food items with pins that you can place on the peg board.
• Fit them all in without overlaps to complete the puzzle.

Collect a Knife from the box.

Return to the accident scene and place the finger print kit on the rocks to collect the Fingerprints.

Then place the evidence envelope by the gin to collect the Gun. Use the knife on the bag to cut the strap and collect the Bag.

View the bag in your inventory and open it to collect a Key.

Back up to the mine entrance and view the large container behind the miner.

Use the Key to open this and collect a Pick

Collection Item: Hard hat inside the container.

Go back down the right path to the accident scene and then view the boards on the left wall. Use the pick here to break open the loose boards and then you can collect a Lever.

Go back you your carriage in the yard and place the gun and fingerprints on the table. Tap these to start a puzzle

Fingerprint Puzzle

Tap the correct matching print from the hand and the gun for each finger.

Solution:

You will get Evidence 1/4 - The deceased's gun

Back in the yard view the pump on the right again. Add the lever to it to repair it.

Use the Dirty Part on this to wash it and then collect the Detail (3/3).

Go back into the workshop in the main building. View a red cabinet with a blue panel on it.

Add the 3 details to this to start a puzzle.

Positive/Negative Puzzle

• On the left side is a blue negative slot but there is a red positive block in it.
• On the right is a Red positive slot but with a blue negative block in it.
• Move the blocks on the board around to let you swap the blue and red blocks over to the opposite sides.
• All of the blocks can be moved in any direction.

Collect a Set of Drills and a Screwdriver.

Now tap the open gate on the right of the mine building to travel to the town center.

Collection Item: Anchor on the stone steps on the left.

Morphing Object: small sign hanging from the building on the right.

View the Fish statue on the center and then you can use the screwdriver on the front to collect a Hacksaw Balde.

Then view the wooden hut to the left of the fish.

Use the knife to cut the rope and open the door. From inside collect the Ladder and a blue chip - Chips (1/5)

Return to the accident scene in the mine. View the crane and add the ladder to it.

Tap the top to view it and then open the door on the mechanism.

Tap the hand print inside the door to get Evidence 2/4 - Hand print.

Tap the cable on the winch to get Evidence 3/4 - Cut Cable

Next tap to view the back wall just below the bucket of the crane.

Tap the bullet in the rocks to get Evidence 4/4 - Stuck Bullet

This completes the first investigation.

New Task - Talk to other miners

Go back to the mine entrance yard and you will talk to 2 miners. They will give you details on the other miners.

New Task - Find Jacob

Go to the town center again and then tap the small street on the right to move through until you find a house. No 37. You knock but there is no answer.

Morphing Object: Seed / acorns hanging from the branch of the tree

Tap the path to the side of the house to view the back of the house.

Collect a Fleur-de-lis from the ground on the right by the kennel. Then view the back door.

First tap on the lock to look inside the key hole, the key is on the other side. Tap it to move it backwards.

Now use the newspaper on the door to slide it underneath. Then use the screwdriver on the door to push the key out. Then select it from the paper and tap the lock to open the door.

Go inside

New Task - Investigate Jacob's death

Morphing object: stick figure / tree drawing on the wall on the right.

View the sack in the corner that is holding the rope.

Collection Item: anchor on the clothes on the left.

Tap the print on the sack to get Evidence 1/5 - Handprint. Then use the knife on the rope to cut it.

Next view the body on the floor behind the bed. Tap the rope to get Evidence 2/5 - Cable.

Now view the mail box on the door on the left of the room. Use the knife to open it.

Open the letter that is inside from Michael. Evidence 3/5 - Letter

Then collect the green chip - Chips (2/5)

View a bottle of pills under the chair by the bed. Tap this to get Evidence 4/5 - Sleeping Pills.

Next view the desk on the right and collect a Wheel and some Matches.

Then look on the floor by the desk next to a red napkin. Use the tweezers to collect a Drawing from the gap in the floorboards.

Now view the cabinet on the wall above the desk. Add the drawing to it.

Tap the cabinet door on the left to start a puzzle.

Cabinet Grid Puzzle

• On the left is a grid of colored tiles.
• Tap tile to rotate the other tiles around it.
• Arrange them to match the drawing on the right.

Collect a second Fleur-de-lis.

Now exit the house and view the door to the out building on the right.

Add the 2 Fleur-de-lis to open the panel and find another puzzle.

Knot Puzzle

• The board has a grid of different shaped and colored knots.
• There are metal stencil pieces that have holes of different shapes.
• Place the stencils on to the grid to match the knot shapes. You need to fit all of the stencils on to the grid.
• Some pieces can go in more than 1 location

Your grid may vary.

Collection Item: Hard hat on the shelf

Collect a Hook from inside, then use the hook on the set of drawers to lift it and add the wheel to the bottom.

You can now look inside a compartment in the floor.

Collect the Hacksaw Frame and a Leaf (1/2).

Back outside view the branch on the tree to the right. Us the Hook on it to collect a red Chip - Chips 3/5

Go back into the house via the back door and view a picture on the cabinet behind the bed.

Use the screwdriver to open the frame and collect another Leaf (2/2)

Now view the desk again and use the 2 leaves to open the drawer.

Collect a Pink Chip - Chips (4/5)

Then read the paper inside to get Evidence 5/5 - Newspaper about the trial.

This completes the investigation
